Andrea Barber (born Andrea Laura Barber on July 3, 1976 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress. She played Kimmy Gibbler on Full House. For the most part, she has fond memories of Full House. Her only problem was wardrobe. "Once in a while the costume people would say, 'Hey, kids, take home whatever you want,' " recalls Barber. "The others would grab armloads, and I'd just take a pair of pants. My character was obnoxious, had stinky feet and wore things like purple tights and a yellow top. I hated the clothes."
However, she loved portraying Kimmy, and played the role to the hilt.
Her first major role was as the original Carrie Brady on the American soap opera, "Days of Our Lives" from 1982 to 1986. She then took up the role of Kimmy Gibbler, which she played from 1987 to 1995.
Andrea also guest-starred on television shows such as "Fantasy Island," "St. Elsewhere," "The Twilight Zone," "Our House," and "Growing Pains."
Andrea is the youngest child of Donald and Sherry Barber. She has two older brothers: Darin and Justin. On September 1, 2002, Andrea married Jeremy Rytky and they have two children: Tate James (born on April 30, 2004) and Felicity Ruth (born on April 10, 2007).
Andrea attended Whittier College with a major in English. She also worked as the assistant to the director of Whittier College's Office of International Programs. She completed her M.A. in Women's Studies at the University of York in England. She also spent a semester in Denmark.
